Welcome to the Cybernetic Meadows Site

(the new home of eoiweb.com)

NOTE: If you are students from my fourth-year English class, you need to go here

I set up this site to provide information on the two topics that interest me most:

The work of Richard Brautigan and

Creating Web-Based Language-Learning Activities

A strange combination of interests? Perhaps. But back in 1967 Brautigan was already writing about

a cybernetic meadow

where mammals and computers

live together in mutually

programming harmony

So here is my website where technology and imagination combine to offer the visitor the best of both worlds. Hopefully some of those who come here to learn how to put together an activity for their students will click on the link to the Brautigan Archives and be captivated by Brautigan's imagination.

The Brautigan Archives

A collection of biographical and bibliographical material on
American author Richard Brautigan.

The use of wikis for collaborative online writing projects

Ideas for using wikis in online language writing courses. Includes links to some examples, catalogs of activities and an extensive bibliography. Feel free to contribute to this wiki with your own experiences and suggestions!

The Nuts and Bolts of Creating Interactive Language-Learning Activities

A collection of scripts and applications for language teachers interested in producing their own web-based learning materials. I am still in the process of revamping this section. Links to some of the sections of this site can be found below.

Quick access to the downloadable/customizable scripts for the following games:
